How Can You Be Well at USC?
Be Well USC is a university-wide wellness initiative aimed to educate and support students in maintaining their health while studying at USC.
All members of USC’s campus community are encouraged to Be Well at USC. USC encourages students to stay healthy and Be Well by maintaining a balance between academics and their social life. Continuing to exercise, eating healthy, getting enough sleep, maintaining healthy relationships, and getting involved in social activities all add up to healthy and successful outcomes. Health and wellness of college students increases their academic success!
Be Well USC utilizes the World Health Organization’s definition of wellness: “The optimal state of health of individuals and groups… the realization of the fullest potential of an individual physically, psychologically, socially, spiritually, and economically… the fulfillment of one’s role expectations in the family, community, place of worship, workplace, and other settings.” Based on this meaning, initiatives will recognize the following eight dimensions of wellness: social, occupational, spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, environmental, and financial.
