The deadline to enroll or waive the USC Student Health Insurance Plan for the Fall semester is September 13, 2013.
USC Student Health Insurance Plan
It is a USC requirement that all students have supplemental health insurance, in addition to paying the Student Health Center Fee. The USC Student Health Insurance Plan will help to cover the cost of care that cannot be obtained on campus, particularly in an emergency situation where hospitalization may be required. The USC Student Health Insurance Plan works in conjunction with the Engemann Student Health Center and the Eric Cohen Health Center located on the Health Sciences Campus. For this reason, all students enrolled in the USC Student Health Insurance Plan are also required to pay the Student Health Center Fee.
The charge for Fall 2013 is $605 and this will appear on your fee bill each semester as “Student Health Ins”. These charges will be automatically assessed to your account upon meeting one of the following criteria:
- You are an international student studying at USC carrying any number of units (or)
- You are a Health Science student studying at USC carrying any number of units (or)
- You are a domestic student carrying 6 or more units at USC.
PLEASE NOTE: In addition to the above described health insurance charges, USC has a mandatory health center fee, enabling students to access care at the health center on their campus.
The health center fee is $262 for the Fall 2013 Semester. The health fee charge will appear on your fee bill every semester. This fee is mandatory and cannot be waived like the insurance plan.
