Overseas Travel Health Insurance Benefits

Health Insurance Benefits for Students Studying Abroad in a USC-Sponsored Overseas Program

If you are studying abroad, USC wants to ensure that you are covered by health insurance. If you are already enrolled in the USC Student Health Insurance Plan, you will have all the benefits of the Plan described above, plus:

  • Zero deductible for eligible medical expenses while overseas up to $50,000
  • International SOS/ACE Global Assistance
  • Plus more!

If you are not enrolled already in the USC Student Health Insurance Plan, and you are studying abroad in a USC-sponsored overseas program, you will be automatically charged for the USC Student Health Insurance Plan for Students Studying Overseas for the duration of your program.

While you are overseas, students need to carry their USC I.D. card and International SOS I.D. card with them at all times in case you have a medical emergency or need urgent care. Please contact eshcins@usc.edu if you have any questions. See our Overseas Travel Resources page.
