What Can I Do When I’m Sick?
USC students who live on or near campus most likely have access to the USC Engemann Student Health Center. How do you know if you have access? If you are registered for 6 or more units on the UPC campus, then you have already paid the mandatory student health fee. The health center staff encourages you to come to the health center for all of your primary care needs. Please bring your USC ID with you to your visit.
The health center is on the UPC campus near the Lyon Center. Whether you are sick or injured, we are here to help. Please follow the steps below to get the health care you need. Also, visit usc.edu/engemann for details about our services and wellness resources that we offer.
Make A Sick Appointment
Please go online to usc.edu/myshr or call us at (213) 740-9355 during our business hours to make an appointment and get any of your questions answered. If you need assistance right away, we encourage students to make an appointment for the next business day by going online the night before at usc.edu/myshr, starting at 6:30pm, and schedule a “sick” visit.
After Hours Assistance
When the health center is closed, we are just a phone call away.
For Medical Needs: (213) 740-9355
You will be prompted to follow recorded instructions (press 1 for medical). A nurse will assist you with any medical concerns and/or can connect you with an on-call counselor, if necessary.
For Counseling Needs: (213) 740-7711
You will be connected to the after-hours counselor who will assist you with any concerns.
Emergency On or Near Campus
For a Life-Threatening Emergency, call the USC Department of Public Safety (DPS): (213) 740-4321. DPS will arrange for an ambulance and help your student manage the emergency quickly and effectively. Be prepared to identify your location and situation.
For an off-campus emergency, 911 should be dialed.
